This sidestand relocate bracket gets your kickstand off of the vulnerable engine case. This quality kit comes from our in-house hard parts brand Fox Hill Moto.
The problem with the KTM stock design is that the side stand is bolted directly to the case. If the kickstand is hit just right the engine case could crack and leak all of its oil out in the wilderness, leaving you stranded. Just a slow tip over in the grocery store parking lot could snap off the stock kickstand. The cost of the repair could be as much as $8000.00 dollars for a new case. Personally did not want to take my own 1290 Adventure R out for an off-road ride until I had this design flaw addressed.
The KTM Adventure Sidestand relocate bracket is made entirely of 4130 chromolloy steel to insure structural integrity. Included are all necessary hardware to install it on your bike. A magnet is included to disable the side stand sensor. After the magnet is applied to the sensor, a piece of heat shrink tubing is provided to securely attach the magnet to the sensor. Ii is very simple to do and will include the necessary instructions to do the install with a few simple tools.
